Ashok Stupa

The five Ashoka Stupas of Patan have been credited to King Ashoka. These stupas were often built upon a mound of earth covered with grass. The four Ashoka Stupas in Lalitpur are located at Lagankhel in the south, Imadol in the east, Ibahi in the north and Pulchowk in the west. Surrounded by an open space around them, these stupas also serve as public spaces for the visitors to relax.
