Balaju Park

Balaju Park The 18th century garden at Balaju, now known as Mahendra Park, attracts a number of visitors for diverse reasons. One of the main attractions of this park is the famous statue of Vishnu, said to be a replica of Budhanilkantha, built for the Royal Family as they were barred from visiting Budhanilkantha itself. Similarly, the 22 painted stone taps, because of which the park is locally known as Baisdhara Balaju, draw an enormous crowd of devotees for a holy bath during the Balaju Bais Dhara Mela in the month of April. Moreover, the swimming pool and the ample green space inside the park are other reasons for the increasing number of visitors throughout the year.
