Manga Hiti

Manga Hiti is the oldest stone spout dating back to 570 A.D (492 Baisakh). It is part of the impressive monument ensemble in Patan’s Mangal Bazaar, located beyond the north wing of the royal palace (Raimund O.A. Becker-Ritterspach, ‘Water Conduits in the Kathmandu Valley’) where currently the Patan Museum is housed. The annual cleaning ritual is carried out by the users on the occasion of Sithinakhah, which occurs during the month of Jestha.
