Bhugol Park

Bhugol Park Said to have been constructed as a reminder of the great 1934 earthquake, this park is one of the landmarks of New Road. Besides the ’Bhukampa Smarak’ (Earthquake Monument), the park also contains a circular marble podium, with a statue of Lord Shiva over a globe. It is commonly believed that the structure symbolises the lord saving people from the disaster of earthquake by providing stability to the earth (The Same Old New Road, The Kathmandu Post).
